  • For sporting clays and 5 stand we are affiliated with the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) and the Vancouver Island Sporting Clays (VISC).
  • Scores for sporting clays events count towards scores for VISC.

Courtenay regularly hosts sporting clays on the 1st Saturday of the month, at 3780 Colake Road, Comox-Strathcona.

The Shotgun Venue has 4 combination Trap & Skeet fields, as well as a grid featuring 14 machines which emulates sporting clays. Our Sporting Clays Course has 10 permanent and 2 temporary stations, with 3 traps per station.

Regular Sporting Clays at Courtenay – May 7th 2022

Courtenay and District F&G will be hosting our next Sporting Clays event on Saturday, May 7. Check in begins at 09:00. There will be no lunch served so please bring your own. 

  • There will be 100 targets in the morning and 100 in the afternoon over 12 stations, beginning at 10 am and 1 pm. The afternoon set will use different menus and/or machines. Most shoot both sets, but you can choose either 100 AM or 100 PM if you like.
  • Cost is $30 per 100. Please bring cash or cheque as our Visa/Debit is very slow! 
  • Ammo can also purchased for $10.50 per box but quantities sold are limited to what you intend to use during the day, to a maximum of 10 boxes.
  • Please pre-register yourself and/or your squad with Grace Evans at goldvisa@yahoo.com
  • Coffee, soft drinks, snacks and water will be for sale in the clubhouse as usual.


Pigeon Pounders Challenge – May 7th 2022

This is also the first leg of the “Pigeon Pounders Challenge” where a spry group of Islanders will be up against a motley crew of Mainlanders. 

There are two legs to this journey: May 7, 2022 in Courtenay. Scores from the shoot above will be used. No need to register for this event, just show up and pay.

Then July 16, 2022 at Vancouver Gun Club where the prizes will be handed out.

To compete for prizes, you have to shoot both events.

Cost is $100.00 per leg plus cost of a t-shirt if you want one. Probably in the $25 range.
