Vancouver Island Sporting Clays (VISC) is a small fun-based sporting clays shooting league. There are currently five clubs on Vancouver Island that have sporting clays fields and host VISC shoots: Victoria, Port Alberni, Parksville/Qualicum, Courtenay and Gold River. You should give it a try, because it’s way more fun than trap or skeet.
We have about 100 members and each pay $20 annual league dues. Most of the money collected goes toward hosting and prizes for the annual league championship. Each club however does host some sporting clays shoots where the proceeds are donated. For example (P/Q) hosts 2 each year. One for the Oceanside heart and stroke foundation and one for the BC Wildlife Federation legal defense fund. And a food bank shoot in late November.
Some belong to one club but shoot at the others when time and $$ permit. Some of the real keeners shoot 4 or 5 times a month (yes, every Saturday). Depending on the fire hazard and availability of volunteers (to set up and take down the course) there is a shoot almost every Saturday. Every year there is a league championship held over a weekend at one of the member clubs. But everyone knows this is a FUN league.

Looking for a few things and thought I’d put it out to you all first as I’m sure there are closets full of stuff out there.
I’m teaching archery to beginners and could use a left and right hand recurve bow with low draw weight around 20lbs or less.
Friend of mine would like to get his 10 year old into clays and is looking for a 20ga semi, something he wouldn’t mind cutting down to fit so nothing fancy, old 1100 maybe.
On my last shell order from Qualicum someone took my order of 1oz loads and I was left with 6 cases of 1 1/8oz 1300ft 7.5. With my light gun they are no fun. Anyone interested in trading them for light 12ga or 20ga loads let me know.
Hope you are all well. Mark 250 333 8601
